Artist Residencies Applications Now Open for 2025/2026!
We offer 1-month long and on occasion 2 or 3 week Art Residencies during the winter and occasionally other months throughout the year.
We have just opened up spaces for October November December 2025 and January February and March 2026
We welcome all creatives to apply artists, writers, musicians etc and at all stages of their creative journey.
The aim of the residency is to give the creator the time and space for a month to fully concentrate on their chosen creative pursuit in a beautiful quiet rural environment . We are looking for people who are wanting to further their creativity and are looking for the time and space to do this without any outside pressures.
Accommodation is in one of our beautiful holiday cottages which you can see here.
We ask for a contribution of £600 (winter months) to cover the costs for running the cottage for a month during the autumn/winter.(£400 for 2 weeks , £500 for 3 weeks) If two artists are in one cottage there will be an extra charge of £50/week= £200. We also kindly ask that the resident leaves us with a piece of work inspired by the time that they have spent at Mud and Wool.
It may also be possible to organise you holding a workshop if you would like to do some teaching whilst you are here and we could also look into seeing if it would be possible to show some of your work locally if you would like this .
The artist uses the space in the cottage but also has access to our open sided barn and potentially our main building which can both be used for larger work. Details can be discussed with us as to what your needs are and we can take it from there.
