RETREATS AND RESIDENCIES @ MUD AND WOOL

Mud and Wool is a rural creative space offering residencies and retreats for artists and creative practitioners. Our programmes are designed to support focused work, reflection, and time away from everyday pressures—giving you the space to explore and develop your creativity.

We are passionate about encouraging creativity in everyone, whether you are a professional artist or someone who may struggle with “imposter syndrome” when calling yourself one. Our spaces are welcoming and supportive, and suitable for artists, writers, musicians, and anyone seeking time to create.

Artist Retreats are offered in the Spring and Summer

• a time to be creative without any limitations

• from 1 to 4 weeks .

• No requirements except that the prime focus of the retreat is for you to engage in your creative practice.

Artist Residencies are offered in the Winter and Autumn

We offer a limited number of places each winter applications are being taken for 2026/2027 now

• Month long (occasionally we may be able to offer 2-3 weeks)

• During the artist residency we ask that the artist leaves a piece of work at Mud and Wool to inspire others in the future.

• We also ask that they engage in a community event such as a small gathering with the local community to discuss their residency and show their work or a small workshop .
